The Distinguished Engineer Award aims to motivate Bahraini engineers to innovate and be creative in the engineering field

Award Categories & Conditions

Young Engineer Category

  • Must have 3 to 10 years of practical experience in any engineering field.
  • Provided distinguished contributions in their field of specialization at the organizations they worked for.
  • Or presented creative ideas to their workplace in areas such as design, execution, cost reduction, quality improvement, project management, or other professional fields.
  • Or contributed to a project at their workplace, individually or as part of a team, which won an award or recognition.

 Experienced Engineer Category

  • Must have more than 10 years of practical experience in any engineering field.
  • Provided distinguished contributions in their field of specialization at the organizations they worked for.
  • Or presented creative ideas to their workplace in areas such as design, execution, cost reduction, quality improvement, project management, or engineering education and training.
  • Or contributed to a project at their workplace, individually or as part of a team, which won an award or recognition.
  • Contributed to training and developing young engineers.
  • Held a leadership position and made distinguished contributions in administrative and technical fields.

Best Professional Achievement Category

  • Must have more than 20 years of practical experience in any engineering field.
  • Provided distinguished contributions to the development of the profession (technical practice, leadership, or engineering education), either at their workplace, through the Bahrain Society of Engineers, or through professional associations outside Bahrain.
  • Or provided distinguished contributions in their field of specialization at the organizations they worked for.
  • Or led a project at their workplace that won an award or recognition.
  • Contributed to training and developing young engineers.
  • Held a leadership position and made distinguished contributions in administration.

General Notes

  • If they do not comply with the objectives, conditions, regulations, and contents of the nomination file and award guidelines.
  • If submitted after the specified deadline.
  • If the judges determine that the information or achievements presented are not the applicant’s own innovation.

Required Documents

Nomination File Submission

Each candidate must submit a complete and organized nomination file containing clear, verified details and supporting documentation related to their achievements. The file should present all information in a structured, professional manner to facilitate accurate evaluation.

Supporting Documents & Evidence

The nomination file must include documents, drawings, reports, and any other relevant evidence that demonstrates the candidate’s qualifications for the award category. It should also list the names of all contributors to the achievement, along with their CVs and records of prior experience in similar engineering projects.

Declaration of Originality

The candidate must provide a signed declaration confirming that the nomination file and all included materials have not been submitted to any other competition. This ensures the authenticity and exclusivity of the submitted work.

Image Submissions Only

Physical models or physical prototypes will not be accepted as part of the submission. However, photographic or electronic images may be included to illustrate the project, design, or technical achievement being nominated.
